Between 100 and 130 people per month access the Migrant Destitution Fund. Unfortunately, we do not at present have the funds to sustain this 12 months of the year. Our priority is the winter months, when the need is greatest. We are therefore pausing over the summer to ensure that we have sufficient funding to see us through the autumn and winter.
Since August 2023, we have distributed nearly 1200 grants, totalling £112,110, supporting 684 individuals.
While we are proud of this record, it is very difficult to have to pause the fund at this time. We and our referral partners are all too aware of the very difficult impact this will have on people accessing the fund - the fund is a lifeline for some of the most marginalised in our society.
